Theirs a great whiskey bar in the Basque highlands called Scanlan's Tavern, www.bilbaodenoche.com/zonasmarcha_irlandeses_urdaibai.htm&nb sp; I stumbled across this eccentric bar while trekking on the old coastal route to Santiago,and what a place for weary travellers and pilgrims to stop for some refreshments.The bar has a great collection and has both Irish and Scottish whiskie's but the focus is on Irish as the bar's landlord is Irish.Its interesting to hear about Irish whiskey heritage and taste their exqusite pure pot stills aswell as their single malts.We enjoyed an impromptu tasting sesson and sampled their "ball o' malt" .The bar is also a Rugby bar and has satellite TV which relays Heinken cup,football etc so sadly leaving Euskadi as they say here Agur...

I can give you one bar in the Netherlands you must have been
 `t Kompas in Den Hoorn on the island of Texel,5000 diffrent whiskies from all over the world.Also English pub North end in Leiden is worth a visit with more as 300 whiskies and in the seasideresort  Katwijk ZH there is an hotel,Zee en Duin,which has a great assortiment of whiskies and nice dinners with them.

 Ive been to many good pubs in northern Spain ,Galicia. Great tasting beers and ales and lots of whisky.
