I just got a Tamnavulin Glenlivet Whisky of 8 years old. It's bottled in 1978, so has been in it's bottle for quite a long time (realizing that won't change the 8 years ;-) ).
Before I open the bottle to enjoy a sip, I was wondering what the best way would be to drink this one. Thought about getting me a tulip formed glass to enjoy it even more (obviously my other whisky's will enjoy that glass too, so the new bottle is just a good reason to buy one!).
I'm not very knowledgeable about whisky, so just curious:
- is there a large chance it'll have turned bad?
- Google'd a bit, but does somebody have some good stories or things to know about this bottle?
- I won't sell it, but out of curiousity - what would this bottle be worth?
- any other advise on how to drink this? Some nice food to combine with it? :-)
Thanks!
