Found 2 bottles of Jacob's Well 750ml, maybe purchased about 9 years ago. Are these of any value as collectible or rare? And how much are they worth? As I understand, they are not made often? Thank you.

Hi The collector's market for bourbon is small, so the value is probably just about the same as when you bought the bottles. You can ask for a valuation using the contact form on The Whisky Portal. The request will be forwarded to whiskyauction.com, and you you hopefully you should get a more precise answer. Cheers |

Jacob's Well was a one-time production of Jim Beam about a dozen years ago, trying to take advantage of the popularity of 'micro-brewing' with a so-called 'micro bourbon'. In fact, the only real difference from standard bottlings is that Beam dumped the barrels, married them, and then re-barreled them (in the original barrels) for a time before bottling.
It's not exceptional bourbon, but there is nothing wrong with it either. I purchased two locally just last month for $20.49 US each. They are, though, getting harder and harder to find simply because it's all old stock. And, there's no reason to believe it will be made again, since now Jim Beam bottles a 7yo white-label bourbon. I'm afraid they're not going to make you rich anytime soon. If you or someone you know enjoys bourbon, drinking them might be the greatest value you can get for them. |
